Any day is a good day to make someone's day.

The Founding Story: From awkward conversations to an actual business.

Fun fact: I used to think mental illness was bullsh*t. A made up ailment for the weak and one curable just by being strong. It was not until a family member was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and another began suffering from anxiety, that I realized mental illness is an ailment that can affect anyone. The more I educated myself, the more I began to discover the stigma associated with discussing the topic.

"I wish they knew how special they were" is a phrase that you hear time and time again, usually after tragedy strikes. It does not have to be this way. I came up with So Special after conversing with Jen about how difficult it still is to help a loved one struggling with mental health. And with our conversation as inspiration, I invited her to join me in creating So Special.

Our signature yellow box is like a hug from far away. A thoughtful way to say “You matter to me” or “You can talk to me about what you're going through”, “I’m here”. Maybe your loved one is suffering from anxiety, depression or PTSD. So Special is a small gesture to brighten someone's day and open up the lines of communication, minus the stigma.

We’re so happy that you're here and can't wait to hear about how our care packages help you help others. Together we can spread love, light and positivity around the world.
